Neurogenin, a protein associated with elevated platelet counts and splenomegaly, is involved in neuronal precursor development and maturation. By binding to the CNTF receptor complex (including CNTF alpha chain, LIFR and IL6ST), neurogenin may affect signaling pathways related to cell differentiation.
