Cdc27 是 anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C) 的一个组成部分，APC/C 是一种细胞周期调控的 E3 泛素连接酶，负责调控细胞有丝分裂和 G1 期的进程。APC/C 复合物通过介导目标蛋白的泛素化及其后续降解发挥作用，主要介导 'Lys-11' 连接的多聚泛素链的形成，其次也参与 'Lys-48' 和 'Lys-63' 连接的多聚泛素链的形成。此外，APC/C 复合物还能催化目标蛋白上形成分支的 'Lys-11'/'Lys-48' 连接的泛素链。
