Involved in circadian regulation of translation; entrainment of circadian clock by photoperiod; and regulation of nucleocytoplasmic transport. Acts upstream of or within several processes, including Insulin secretion involved in cellular response to glucose stimulus; regulation of gene expression; and regulation of Insulin Receptor signaling pathway. Located in nucleolus and perinuclear region of cytoplasm. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; brain; genitourinary system; respiratory system; and sensory organ.
