Frovatriptan-d₃ (succinate) is deuterium labeled Frovatriptan (succinate). Frovatriptan succinate ((R)-Frovatriptan succinate) is a potent, high affinity, selective and orally active 5-HT1B (pK50 of 8.2) and 5-HT1D receptor agonist. Frovatriptan succinate exhibits >10-fold selectivity for 5-HT1B and 5-HT1D over 5-HT1A, 5-HT1F, and 5-HT7 and >1000-fold selectivity over other 5-HT, dopamine, histamine H1, and α1-adrenoceptor. Frovatriptan succinate has the potential for migraine research[1][2].

Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs^[1].
