Bevifimod (PRTX-100) is a highly purified form of Staphylococcal protein A (SpA). Bevifimod can be used for idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) research[1][2].

Bevifimod (PRTX-100; 2.5-250 μg/kg; i.v.; once every two weeks; for 4 weeks) increases platelet counts to within normal levels within 1-2 weeks and none of the mice died[2].

Animal Model: SCID mice bearing immune thrombocytopenia (ITP)[2]
Dosage: 2.5 μg/kg, 25 μg/kg, 250 μg/kg
Administration: i.v.; once every two weeks; for 4 weeks
Result: Raised platelet counts in a well-established murine model of ITP.
