The ESRP1/RBM35A protein is an important mRNA splicing factor, particularly affecting epithelial cell-specific isoforms such as FGFR2-IIIb. During epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), its regulatory influence extends to transcripts including CD44, CTNND1, and ENAH.
