MERTK Protein, a receptor tyrosine kinase, transmits signals by binding to ligands like LGALS3, TUB, TULP1, or GAS6. Governing cell survival, migration, differentiation, and efferocytosis, MERTK undergoes autophosphorylation upon ligand binding. Docking sites for downstream signaling molecules are created, initiating interactions with GRB2 or PLCG2 and phosphorylation of MAPK1, MAPK2, FAK/PTK2, or RAC1. MERTK signaling contributes to diverse processes, including macrophage clearance, platelet aggregation, cytoskeleton reorganization, and engulfment. In the retinal pigment epithelium, MERTK regulates phagocytosis, and it suppresses the innate immune response by activating STAT1 in the Toll-like receptor pathway, promoting the production of SOCS1 and SOCS3. MERTK Protein, Rat (HEK293, His) is the recombinant rat-derived MERTK protein, expressed by HEK293, with N-6*His labeled tag. The total length of MERTK Protein, Rat (HEK293, His) is 479 a.a., with molecular weight of 55.5 kDa.
