Rotundine is an antagonist of dopamine D1, D2 and D3 receptors with IC₅₀s of 166 nM, 1.4 μM and 3.3 μM, respectively. Rotundine is also an antagonist of 5-HT_1A with an IC₅₀ of 370 nM.

Rotundine 对多巴胺 D₁ 和 D2 受体有阻断作用。第 1 天和第 7 天，Rotundine (6.25、12.5 和 18.75 mg/kg) 与生理盐水组小鼠的运动计数差异均无统计学意义。6.25、12.5 和 18.75 mg/kg 剂量的 Rotundine 拮抗羟可酮引起的多动症。Rotundine (6.25、12.5 mg/kg) 不影响致敏程度，但羟可酮+羟可酮组与罗通定 (18.75 mg/kg)+羟可酮+羟可酮组之间存在显著差异，表明 Rotundine (18.75 mg/kg) 可显著抑制羟可酮致敏的发生^[2]。
