SDS is a kind of anionic surfactant that is soluble in water and has excellent detergency, emulsification and foaming capabilities. It is widely used for protein denaturation in biology. MCE SDS dust-free Powder can be directly prepared into 10% SDS solution.

Storage

Store at room temperature for 3 years.

Protocol

1.   Add 100 g of SDS dust-free Powder into the cleaned beaker, dissolve with 600 mL distilled water under a magnetic stirrer.

2.   Add distilled water to the solution in step 1 until the total volume is 1 L. The final solution is 10% SDS.

Note: The working concentration of SDS is generally 0.1-0.5%, further dilutions can be made to the 10% SDS solution.

  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

    Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
