Acts upstream of or within antigen processing and presentation of endogenous peptide antigen via MHC class I and positive regulation of T cell mediated cytotoxicity. Located in intracellular membrane-bounded organelle. Part of TAP complex. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in several diseases, including MHC class I deficiency; aspirin-induced respiratory disease; autoimmune disease (multiple); cervical Cancer (multiple); and systemic scleroderma (multiple).
