GCAP1 Proteinas, a pivotal regulator in the visual system, modulates retinal guanylyl cyclase activity based on intracellular calcium concentrations. Under low calcium, GCAP1 stimulates retinal guanylyl cyclase for dark state recovery in rod photoreceptors. Elevated calcium inhibits guanylyl cyclase activity, a crucial aspect of rod photoreceptor phototransduction. Additionally, GCAP1 may contribute to light response and recovery in cone photoreceptors under bright light. The protein's homodimeric structure enhances its regulatory capabilities in the visual signaling pathway. GCAP1 Protein, Human (sf9) is the recombinant human-derived GCAP1 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with tag free. and with residual Gly-Pro in N-terminal (not related to functional changes) mutation.
