The S100B protein is a small zinc and calcium binding protein abundant in astrocytes with unique calcium and zinc binding sites of varying affinities. Although it binds weakly to calcium, it binds tightly to zinc, and potassium ions antagonize both. S100B Protein, Mouse (His) is the recombinant mouse-derived S100B protein, expressed by E. coli , with C-6*His labeled tag. The total length of S100B Protein, Mouse (His) is 92 a.a., with molecular weight of ~12.0 kDa.

Stored at -20°C for 2 years. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.
