Semenogelin-1 Protein is a major protein in semen and is involved in the formation of a gel matrix that encapsulates accessory glandular secretions and ejaculated sperm. Semenogelin-1 Protein can be hydrolyzed by prostate-specific antigen (PSA) protease to produce a variety of peptide products with different functions. Semenogelin-1 Protein is a predictor of cancer progression and prognosis.
