VEGF-A participates in angiogenesis, vasculogenesis, and endothelial cell growth, inducing endothelial cell proliferation, promoting cell migration, inhibiting cell apoptosis, and inducing vascular permeability. VEGF-A stimulates endothelial cell mitogenesis and cell migration.
