Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) (活性氧)

活性氧 (Reactive Oxygen Species，ROS)，例如超氧阴离子 (O2-)、过氧化氢 (H2O2) 和羟基自由基 (HO•)，由氧的部分还原形成的自由基和非自由基氧组成。细胞 ROS 是在线粒体氧化代谢过程中以及细胞对外来生物、细胞因子和细菌入侵的反应中内源性产生的。

ROS 还通过直接抑制 MAPK 磷酸酶来激活 MAPK 通路。通过 PTEN，PI3K 通路受到生长因子刺激产生的 ROS 的可逆氧化还原调节。自噬的激活可能是响应 ROS 的细胞防御机制。

Reactive oxygen species (ROS), such as superoxide anion (O2-), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), and hydroxyl radical (HO•), consist of radical and non-radical oxygen species formed by the partial reduction of oxygen. Cellular ROS are generated endogenously during mitochondrial oxidative metabolism as well as in cellular response to xenobiotics, cytokines, and bacterial invasion.

ROS also activates MAPK pathways by the direct inhibition of MAPK phosphatases. Through PTEN, the PI3K pathway is subject to reversible redox regulation by ROS generated by growth factor stimulation. The activation of autophagy may be a cellular defense mechanism in response to ROS.
