CD20/MS4A1 protein regulates cellular calcium influx, essential for B-lymphocyte development, differentiation, and activation. It activates store-operated calcium channels, allowing calcium influx through B-cell receptor/BCR activation. CD20/MS4A1 protein forms homotetramers and interacts with cell surface IgM chains, the antigen-binding parts of the BCR.
