Syndecan-1/CD138 Protein, a cell surface proteoglycan, connects the cytoskeleton to the interstitial matrix. It collaborates with SDCBP and PDCD6IP to regulate exosome biogenesis. It induces its own expression in dental cells through an MSX1 pathway. It interacts with CDCP1 and TIAM1, binding to the PDZ domain of TIAM1. It also interacts with MDK, impacting cellular processes.
