MuA transposase is derived from the MuA gene of bacteriophage Mu and can catalyze the insertion of DNA from bacteriophage Mu into the host genome, or excision from the host genome and transfer to other locations. MuA transposase binds to both ends of the transposon in the form of a tetramer to form a stable transposome structure. MuA transposase is suitable for the preparation of mutant clones and the cloning of circular DNA[1].
