Racecadotril-d₅  (Synonyms: Acetorphan-d₅)

Racecadotril-d₅ is the deuterium labeled Racecadotril. Racecadotril (Acetorphan) is a neutral endopeptidase (NEP) inhibitor. Racecadotril and its active metabolite Thiorphan inhibits purified NEP activity from mouse brain with Kis of 4500 and 6.1 nM, , respectively. Antidiarrheal agent[1].

Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs^[1].
