In association with SIGLEC10, CD24 contributes to the selective suppression of the immune response to DAMPs such as HMGB1, HSP70, and HSP90, suggesting a role in immune regulation. Additionally, CD24 is implicated in controlling autoimmunity, exhibiting cell-type-specific interactions with LYN and FGR in diverse cellular processes and immune regulation.
