Wee1 Protein acts as a crucial negative regulator of the G2 to M transition, ensuring nuclear protection by phosphorylating CDK1 on 'Tyr-15' and inactivating the cyclin B1-CDK1 complex. Its peak activity in G2 phase decreases as cells progress into M phase, with dynamic regulation, increased phosphorylation during S and G2 phases, and diminished levels during M/G1 phase transition potentially due to degradation.
