1-Docosanol-d₄₅  (Synonyms: 1-二十二醇 d₄₅)

1-Docosanol-d₄₅ is the deuterium labeled 1-Docosanol. 1-Docosanol is a saturated fatty alcohol used traditionally as an emollient, emulsifier, and thickener in cosmetics, and nutritional supplement. 1-Docosanol is an inhibitor of lipid-enveloped viruses including herpes simplex.

Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs^[1].
