Quinfamide (WIN-40014) is an orally active class of dichloroacetyl derivative with significant anti-intestinal protozoan, particularly mmoeba histolytica activity. Quinfamide exhibits antiamoebic activity under solvent-free conditions with an IC50 of 28.15 μg/mL in a suspension condition. Quinfamide particles are actively engulfed by the amoebas, then cells are affected, and finally, amoebas are killed and lysed, and this process directly relies on the physical intake of the drug particles. Quinfamide can be used in the research of tropical parasitic infections such as amoebiasis and helminthiasis[1][2][3].

Quinfamide (30 mg/kg，口服，制成小颗粒并与饲料混合，连服 49 天) 的抗球虫功效较低，但与 Carbopol 制成颗粒后，其功效显著改善[1]。
Quinfamide (口服) 对 E. cricetid 的 ED50 值在连续 3 天的多次给药中为 0.25 mg/kg/d (总剂量 0.75 mg/kg)，单次给药后为 0.9 mg/kg[2]。
Quinfamide (口服) 可保护仓鼠免于再次感染 E. cricetid，并且对啮齿动物 (10 g/kg，单次给药) 、猴子 (500 mg/kg，连服 37 天) 、狗 (2 g/kg，单次给药) 和大鼠 (500 mg/kg，连服 31 天) 均无明显毒性[2]。

Animal Model: Coccidial infection induced by E. acervuline, E. maxima and E. tenella established in one-day old broiler chickens[1]
Dosage: 30 mg/kg alone or with 0.1% Carbopol
Administration: Oral administration (p.o.), prepared as small pellets and mixed with feed, for 49 days
Result: Increased the weight of the broiler chickens, reduced the amount of egg sacs excreted, and alleviated intestinal lesions but that the combined inhibition was more remarkable.
