DR6/TNFRSF21 protein is the core protein of apoptosis and can activate NF-kappa-B, BAX-mediated apoptosis and mitochondrial cytochrome c release. In neuronal apoptosis, it is critical for amyloid peptide-triggered cell body death and axonal pruning.
