ITGB6 is a multifunctional receptor that recognizes RGD sequences in ligands such as fibronectin, chemoattractants, and fibrillin-1 (FBN1) and plays a key role in mediating RGD-dependent cell adhesion. . Its key functions include the release of transforming growth factor beta-1 (TGF-beta-1) from latency-associated peptide (LAP), thereby activating TGF-beta-1.
