Galectin 8 是一种 beta-galactoside 结合凝集素，通过检测感染引起的膜损伤并限制病原体增殖来发挥免疫功能。它通过结合位于内体膜腔侧的 beta-galactoside 配体来检测膜破裂，这些配体在膜破裂后暴露于细胞质中。Galectin 8 通过与 CALCOCO2/NDP52 相互作用启动自噬，从而限制感染。它对 3'-O-sialylated 和 3'-O-sulfated 聚糖具有明显偏好。该蛋白在限制沙门氏菌（S. typhimurium）和小 RNA 病毒科（Picornaviridae）等病原体感染中起关键作用。by similar：其功能还包括通过自噬靶向清除受损膜相关的病原体。

  Western blot analysis of extracts from HepG2 (lane 2(20μg) , HepG2 (lane 3(40μg),using Galectin 8 Antibody. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% BSA in TBST for 2 hour at room temperature. The primary anti-body and Loading control antibody (Beta Actin, HY-P80438, 1/3000) was used in 5% BSA in TBST at 4°C overnight. Goat Anti-Mouse/Rabbit IgG-HRP Secondary Anti-body (HY-P8004/HY-P8001, 1/10,000) was used for 1 hour at room temperature.

  Flow cytometric analysis of 1X10^6 Hela cells labeling Galectin 8 Antibody (YA2186) (HY-P82441, red). Cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde and permeabilised with 90% methanol. Then stained with the primary antibody at 1/50 dilution for an hour at 4℃. Alexa Fluor® 488-conjugated AffiniPure Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG H&L (HY-P8002) was used as the secondary antibody at 1/1,000 dilution for 30 minutes at 4℃. Rabbit IgG Isotype Control (HY-P80879, blue) was used as the isotype control, cells without incubation with primary antibody were used as the unlabeled control (black).
