功能：参与活性氧水平的控制和线粒体氧化还原稳态的调节 (PubMed:24601690)。维持硫氧还蛋白的还原态。可能在氧化还原调控的细胞信号传导中发挥作用。

表达水平：
组织特异性：在前列腺、卵巢、肝脏、睾丸、子宫、结肠和小肠中高表达。在脑、骨骼肌、心脏和脾脏中表达中等。在胎盘、胰腺、胸腺和外周血白细胞中表达低。根据 PubMed:10608886 的数据，肾脏中表达高，而根据 PubMed:9923614 的数据，肾脏中表达低。在肾上腺皮质中也观察到高表达 (PubMed:24601690) 。
