N-Desmethylclozapine-d₈  (Synonyms: N-去甲基氯氮平 d₈; Norclozapine-d₈; Desmethylclozapine-d₈; Normethylclozapine-d₈)

N-Desmethylclozapine-d₈ is the deuterium labeled N-Desmethylclozapine. N-Desmethylclozapine is a major active metabolite of the atypical antipsychotic agent Clozapine. N-Desmethylclozapine is a potent, allosteric and partial M1 receptors agonist (EC50=115 nM) and is able to potentiate hippocampal N-methyl-d-aspartate (NMDA) receptor currents through M1 receptor activation. N-Desmethylclozapine is also a δ-opioid agonist[1][2].

Stable heavy isotopes of hydrogen, carbon, and other elements have been incorporated into drug molecules, largely as tracers for quantitation during the drug development process. Deuteration has gained attention because of its potential to affect the pharmacokinetic and metabolic profiles of drugs^[1].
