Vasicine hydrochloride (peganine hydrochloride) is a quinazoline alkaloid isolated from Justicia adhatoda. Vasicine hydrochloride activates PI3K/Akt signaling pathway, exhibits antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antibacterial activities[1][2][3].

(In Vitro)

Vasicine hydrochloride (10-100 μg/mL, 10 min) 对H+/K+-ATPase表现出中等抑制活性（IC50=73.47 μg/mL），清除 DPPH 自由基（IC50=71.97 μg/mL），减少胃酸分泌并表现出抗溃疡作用[3]。

Vasicine hydrochloride（2.5-10 mg/kg，口服，每日一次，共7天）可在 Isoproterenol (HY-B0468) 诱发的大鼠心肌梗死模型中的改善心脏功能，抑制心肌细胞凋亡，减轻心肌坏死、水肿及炎症细胞浸润[2]。

Animal Model: Isoproterenol-induced rats myocardial infarction models[2]
Dosage: 2.5-10 mg/kg
Administration: po, once daily for 7 days
Result: Reduced the levels of serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB).
Increased left ventricular systolic pressure (LVSP) and myocardial contractility, and reduced infarct size.
Reduced the levels of serum TNF-α and IL-6.
Increased the activities of SOD and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) in myocardial tissue, reduced the levels of MDA and MPO.
Increased the thickness of the left ventricular posterior wall and the left ventricular mass.
Inhibited myocardial cell apoptosis.
